7zip is not included in Centos default repository.  We need add additional repository, in this case, RPMforge. Centos Wiki has the instruction on how to add third party repositories.

  1. Install DAG’s GPG key: rpm –import http://apt.sw.be/RPM-GPG-KEY.dag.txt
  2. Check machine architecture: uname -i
  3. Download rpmforge-release package: wget http://packages.sw.be/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release-0.5.2-2.el<5 or 6>.rf.<architecture>.rpm
  4. Verify the package: rpm -K rpmforge-release-0.5.2-2.el<5 or 6>.rf.<architecture>.rpm
  5. Install: rpm -i rpmforge-release-0.5.2-2.el<5 or 6>.rf.<architecture>.rpm
  6. Install p7zip: yum -y install p7zip

7za is the executable.

Of course step 5 should read:

    rpm -i rpmforge-release-0.5.2-2.el5.rf..rpm

    to actually ‘install’ the package

  2. […] Install php53-devel and libmcrypt-devel first. You need add rpmforge repository and you can refer to this post. […]
