Set up multiple SSL sites in IIS 7

There are three ways to achieve multiple SSL or non-SSL sites.

  • Port binding: use a different port for each site. Not practical in real world.
  • IP binding: use different IP for different site.
  • Domain name binding. use different domain name for different site.

Microsoft disabled the UI option to bind domain name for SSL site. Fortunately, we can still do it in the command line.

Run the below script in C:\inetpub\AdminScripts, where adsutil.vbs is located at.

cscript adsutil.vbs set /w3svc/<Site ID>/SecureBindings ":443:your.domain.com"

You can check the <Site ID> in IIS Manager, sites list.

You can see the binding in ISS Manager now.
