Migrate Thunderbird to another computer in Windows

  1. Copy the Thunderbird APPDATA folder to the new computer. To get the PPDATA, Type %APPDATA% in run prompt.
  2. In the new computer, start the Thunderbird Profile Manager from command prompt. “C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe” -P
  3. Click “Create Profile”. You can also delete the existing profile.
  4. In the dialog that opens, enter a descriptive name for the profile.
  5. Click on the “Choose Folder…” button. A “Browse for Folder” dialog will open.
  6. Select the profile folder you copied(<xxxx>.default) and click OK. 
  7. Start the Thunderbird and you will see all your emails.
