Amazon AWS EC2: Update key pairs for RedHat Linux

  1. Create a new key pair under AWS->Network and Security
  2. Use PuTTyGen to load the AWS .pem
  3. Paste the text under “Public Key for pasting into OpenSSH authorized_keys file” to the user’s authorized_keys file. The file should be located in the /home/<user_name>/.ssh/authorized_keys. If the file doesn’t exist, just create it
  4. Click the Save private key button to convert it to PuTTy format. 
  5. You can use the private key to ssh using WinSCP now.
