I was using bitbucket, which allows private usage for free.

In Git Bash window

  1. cd /to/the/project/dir
  2. git init
  3. git remote add origin ssh://git@bitbucket.org/yourusername/yourproject.git
  4. git add .
  5. git status
  6. git commit -m “your message here”
  7. git push origin master

To set up SSH for Git, you can refer to the below document.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BITBUCKET/Set+up+SSH+for+Git

To update existing git project

  1. cd /to/the/project/dir
  2. git status
  3. git add .
  4. git commit -m “your message”
  5. git push origin master
